Tech Magazine Awards Staker and Parson's Wireless Innovationby Concrete Products Honoring the application of modern technologies to everyday business, Constructech magazine recently presented the Gold Vision Award to Staker and Parson Companies. The North Ogden, Utah-based producer was recognized for implementing ThinkShare, a wireless project management system, in the course of its daily business. The system allows employees in the field to utilize handheld PCs to gather field data, which is then synchronized with the company's accounting system to provide real-time, daily project costing and performance analysis.Among those nominated were companies involved in residential construction or commercial and heavy construction, subcontractors, architectural and engineering firms, corporate owners, facility management companies, government agencies, and land developers. Entrants were asked to describe challenges that were solved through the innovative use of technology. Constructech's independent panel of judges evaluated the entries on their individual merits and the success of the solution in meeting goals or problem solving. "The winners of this year's awards are a testament to the talent it takes to be successful in the construction industry," says Peggy Smedley, editorial director and publisher of Constructech. |
