Spirit of Christmas Brought to Children Across Utah

Ogden, UT -- December 18,2003 -- More than 100 children and elderly people will have a brighter Christmas this season because of support provided by Staker and Parson Companies and its employees. The company donated $7,000 to help children in need enjoy their Christmas holiday. Employees also provided toys, food, and gifts for the elderly as part of the companies' service program.

"The funds donated to the United Way of Northern Utah's Sub for Santa will help 27 children in our area," said Debbie Barneck of United Way in Northern Utah. "The support from Staker and parson Companies came at a time when we needed it most. We had to turn families down, as we hadn't received enough sponsors this year. The more funds we receive the more families we can help."

The company donated funds to Sub for Santa programs in Cache Valley, Ogden, Salt Lake, and Utah Counties. The Sub for Santa program is a holiday assistance program for families who do not have the financial resources to provide toys, clothing, and food for their children during the holidays.

"When we heard there was a shortage in sponsors in many of our regions we knew what we could offer would help give something back to the community's that have been so instrumental to our success," said John Parson, CEO and President of Staker and Parson Companies. "We urge other businesses in our area to support these programs as well."
