State Safety Council honors firms, Utahns

The Utah Safety Council has recognized 34 Utah companies and 15 individuals for "outstanding contributions to safety."

The Achievement in Safety by an Organization Award this year went to the Utah Driver License Division.

The Individual Achievement in Safety Award was granted to Christopher Kinnersley, safety and health director for Staker and Parsons Companies.

Among the other companies recognized: ATK Thiokol, Cache Valley Electric, Delta Air Lines, Staker and Parsons Companies, Young Electric Sign Company, Murray City Corporation, Amcor Corrugated Steel Pipe, USANA Health Sciences, Zero Manufacturing Inc., Wasatch Electric, Holcim U.S. Inc., Morton Salt, Sierra Pacific Power Co., Envirocare of Utah Inc., Easton Technical Products, Bud Bailey Construction, Nelson Laboratories Inc., Superior Air Handling Corp., Bodell Construction Corp., Trans-Jordan Cities, Kennecott Utah Copper, G.E. Medical Systems-OEC and the Hexcel Corp.
