OGDEN -- Staker and Parson Cos. is holding a blood drive today to help with the demand of the blood needed to save lives.

ARUP Blood Services is a not-for-profit component of the University of Utah's ARUP Laboratories.

ARUP Blood Services provides blood to the only children's hospitals in Utah. Blood for most babies must be less than 5 days old, which creates a continual need for blood. Children and adults undergoing bone marrow transplants or suffering from cancer, burns, trauma, surgery or illness count on ARUP to have an ongoing supply of blood for their treatment.

The blood drive is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2350 S. 1900 West in Ogden.
